Music
The teaching of music is based upon the fact that it is a creative and social art to be enjoyed. Children have the opportunity to enjoy musical experiences through listening, singing, movement and dance and by playing tuned and un-tuned percussion. We employ specialist music teachers to teach music and give pupils the best opportunity to develop their knowledge and skills in this area of the curriculum.
In 2014-15 Year 3 pupils will have opportunities to learn the recorder and Year 5 pupils the guitar. Pupils in Year 4 and 6 are also offered tuition in flute and violin by the County Peripatetic Music Staff, depending upon ability and availability.
We have been involved in many exciting projects recently: Beauty and the Beast (a whole school production using a range of skills involving children from Y1 to Y6); The Framwellgate Moor Secondary School singing project and we are excited to be performing with the Police Choir at the Village Hall in Coxhoe during our WW1 week after half term.
Please use your child's year group page to find out what they are learning about each half term!
