Year 6 Socially Distanced Picnic

20 August 2020 (by admin)

Dear parents/carers, as you are aware, we have been planning a way of celebrating our Year 6 children’s primary school achievements in a socially distanced way and suggested a picnic on our school field.

We know that at least one secondary school is planning their transition days at the end of next week so we are proposing that we would meet on Tuesday 25th August from 11:00 – 12:15. We ask that parents drop their child off at the entrance on Parson’s Walk. We ask that parents drop their child off at the entrance on Parson’s Walk. • Children with surnames A-J should arrive between 10:30 and 10:40 and be picked up at 12:15• Children with surnames K-Z should arrive between 10:45 and 10:55 and be picked up at 12:20• There will be two areas zoned off on the school field and there will be no more than 20 children in each zone. Children will be seated 2 metres apart within their zone.We would also ask that parents drop their children off/pick them up leaving the school site promptly to ensure social distancing can be maintained. Please could all children bring a picnic blanket/towel to sit on and their own individual picnic lunch. We will enjoy some socially distanced time together to say goodbye and award our leavers' scrolls, subject certificates and share with the children our very own Coxhoe version of a Lockdown Leaver’s Yearbook.  We understand that some of our families may be enjoying some holiday time together/or would prefer their child not to attend and if this is the case, could you please contact the school to arrange to pick up your child's Yearbook. We are obviously relying on our great British weather for this to take place so please be aware that we will use the school app to send a message on Tuesday morning if this needs to be cancelled. Please note that there will be no access to school facilities, e.g. the toilets during the time the children are on the field. Many thanks for your continued support as always.
