Bag2School

As part of our goal to be kinder to the environment we organise bag2School collections where families and friends can recycle clothing, bedding, towels and other items. The bags are weighed and exchanged for payment that is added to our fundraising total.

Our last Bag2School collection in November 2024 raised £42!

Fund-Raisin

Fund-Raisin events are usually held in the Spring term. Each child will be given a box of raisins to enjoy, once they have eaten thier tasty snack we ask that families fill up their box with money (coins, notes or both!) and return it to school. All the money is counted and treat will be given to the class who have raised the most.

This years Fund-Raisin week will be 17th-21st February - details to follow!

Fund - Raisin

The children were given a box of raisins to take home and enjoy and asked to fill the box with cash and return to school. The classes who raised the most money were promised a fruit platter to enjoy as a class. As their was sunch an amazing response it was decided that a class from KS1 and KS2 would be winners. Congratulations Rosen and Morpurgo! As a school the total raised was £455.61.

Pantomime Visit

On the 28th and 31st January our children enjoyed a visit to see Peter Pan at East Durham College. To see the joy on their faces and hear their laughter was magical. One child said "I laughed so much a tear dropped out of my eye." This was a free visit for every child in school and was only possible with the fundraising undertaken by us and the generosity of our parents and carers. So thank you to everone who came to our Christmas shopping night as the money raised paid the £2100 cost for the pantomime trip. We also would like to thank ASDA Spennymoor for donating 200 pieces of fruit and sweets and East Durham College for giving us a good price for the pantomime tickets.

 Christmas Shopping Night - 27th November 2024

The Christmas shopping night was a fantastic event lovingly organised by Miss Dent and ran with help from FOCPS and school staff. There was a wide variety of stalls selling a wide variety of goods from crafts and baked sweet treats to dog treats and jewellery. There was nacho's, crepes and pizza served from the kitchen, and a hot drinks van outside offering refreshements. Mrs Summerill organised a fabulous brass band - GT Group Peterlee who performed some fabulous fesive tunes and the school choir sang beautifully! Santa Claus himself made himself comfortable in the Hub so some of the children could visit and let him know what they would like for Christmas.

Thank you to all of our parents, carers and the local community who helped us to raise in excess of £2000 - this will go towards a whole school visit to a pantomime in January 2025.
