Donaldson & McKee Class
Mini Sports Day
Despite not being able to complete a whole-school sports day, we have had a fantastic time at our very own Mini Sports Day! The children enjoyed taking part in egg and spoons races, obstacle courses, a bean bag balance and a welly throw. They all tried their hardest and did a wonderful job. Well done everyone!
Colour Run
We loved taking part in our whole school colour run! Have a look at our funky photos to see just how colourful we managed to get!
Meet the Chicks!
After watching them hatch via a video, the boys and girls were so excited to meet the chicks today! We talked about how to look after them, thinking about what they need and how we can keep them safe. Have a look at the pictures below as the children each had a turn to hold the chicks!
Visit Planet Earth!
We have been enjoying a fantastic book by Oliver Jeffers called 'Here We Are: Notes for Living on Planet Earth.' We have been discussing what we love about Planet Earth and some of the ways it is wonderful. Below is a video of the children recommending some of their favourite things to do on Planet Earth. They have some great suggestions!
World Book Day
We had a fantastic day in school celebrating World Book Day together. The staff all dressed as characters from 'What the Ladybird Heard' but someone stole the medal from the fine prize cow! We used our detective skills to get to the bottom of the mystery and locate the medal. Have a look below at our fantastic outfits. The children all looked amazing!
Our Return to School - March 2021
It is like the children have never been away!
They walked through the gates like grown ups and got straight back to doing what they love most... Spending time with their friends.
We have enjoyed chatting, playing, sharing, building and spending time together again. Keep checking our website page to see what we get up to during the rest of this term.
Our Christmas Nativity
The boys and girls have been very busy over the last half term working on their Nativity performance. They have enjoyed learning lots of new songs and getting dressed up in their amazing outfits. They can't wait for you to see the final show! We hope you enjoy it!
What we've been up to...
Settling in!
The boys and girls have settled in beautifully to their new environment and are busy making lots of new friends and getting used to our school rules and routines. They have enjoyed exploring indoors and outdoors and have accessed a wide range of resources. They are showing their grown ups more and more each day how independent they can be. What a lovely start to their Coxhoe School journey.
When I am Older!
We have been thinking about what we would like to be when we are older. Take a look at some of our choices!
Adam Bushnell!
We had an exciting visit from the Author Adam Bushnell. He cam to work with us and helped us to tell stories using actions and illustrations. We loved joining in with the funny parts of the story and even had a try of making our very own monster. We made sure that our monsters had angry eyes brows and smelly armpits... Ewwww!
Halloween!
We had a super time at Halloween when our classrooms had a spooky twist! Witches hats and cobwebs were everywhere! We had fun telling the story of Room on the Broom. We even tried some Halloween cooking, making silly soup and exploring ways to use pumpkins!
People who help us!
We have been learning about people who help us, especially the emergency services. The children having been loving putting out fires and investigating crime scenes. There have been police and fire fighters everywhere!
