Hargreaves Class
Mr Mason
What we've been up to...
Senses
We have been learning about the senses in science and explored our different senses in the classroom.
Measuring and weighing in maths
We have been working on length and mass in maths with lots of practical lessons.
Science Enquiry
We have been learning about the different types of enquiry in science and used the Coxhoe Enquiry Characters to help us learn about each one.
World Book Day
Easter Garden
We rounded off our RE lessons about the Easter story by making an Easter garden.
European Day of Languages 2020
Hargreaves were visited by Clara from Lingotots, who taught us some French. We enjoyed listening to some French songs and some stories in French too.
Author visit: Adam Bushnell
We enjoyed a visit from children's author Adam Bushnell. He introduced us to some of his "tree monsters" and we all created our own monsters. We then wrote about what our monsters enjoyed doing.
Practical Maths
Learning maths in a fun and practical way is really important to us in Year 1. We spend some of our lessons outside playing games, or using maths resources in the classroom to discover mathematical principles.
Science Experiments
Class Hargreaves were learning about scientific enquiry. We found out what happened when we left eggs overnight in vinegar and also used vinegar and bicarb of soda to inflate a balloon.
