CHALLENGE ALERT - TT Rockstars battle with Walliams and Rowling - the winning class will receive a prize! 17.5.21 - 23.5.21
In Morpurgo Class, we love active Maths. We like to go outside and explore our learning in lots of different ways. A few weeks ago, we explored telling the time and drawing clock faces on the ground. This was so fun and we were able to learn how to tell the time using the 12 hour clock and the 24 hour clock too!
Miles for Smiles
Morpurgo Class were determined to be involved in raising money for our new playground and the equipment. We all completed half a mile around the track to show our support in raising money for our school. We didn't let the bad weather beat us and we were all so proud of ourselves for such an amazing achievement!
World Maths Day
Morpurgo Class took part in the whole school celebration of World Maths Day. We had fun dancing to the song 5,6,7,8 and also doing Maths activities throughout the day. We celebrated our love for Maths through completing challenges and also creating our own Maths questions. We even had our own human calculator in class!
Layers of the soil experiment
We had lots of fun using food to create our own 3D diagram of the layers of the soil in the earth. We used golden syrup, apples, biscuits and oreos to represent the topsoil. subsoil. rocky soil and bedrock. This helped us understand what the different layers look like. Once we had finished, we completed the most important job of all, tasting our brilliant creations. As you can see from the photos, Morpurgo Class enjoyed every moment of this lesson!
Children in Need
We helped to raise money for Children in Need. We all wore our own clothes and some of us bought sweets and the money went towards the charity.
The author Adam Bushnell visited our school and taught us an exciting lesson all about the Stone Age. He brought in lots of artefacts that we were able to take a close look at and incorporate into our work. This was a very fun lesson!
