What we've been up to...
Fruit and vegetable characters
In English, we have been reading the story Supertato - Evil Pea Rules! We created our own fruit and vegetable characters and thought about what they might be saying. They were all very scared of the Evil Pea!
Yoga
This half term we have loved doing yoga! We have learnt lots of different poses and our balance is getting better. We all tried really hard!
Spring Walk
In science we have been learning about the different seasons. We went on a spring walk to look for the signs of spring. We saw flowers and leaves starting to grow. We also talked about the weather - it could be sunny, cloudy or raining in spring. Occasionally it snows!
World Book Day
On World Book Day, we all dressed up as our favourite book character. We had lots of fun doing some acting with our friends. Can you guess who we are?
Easter
In RE we have been learning about the Christian story of Easter. As a class, we made our own Easter garden. We thought about what we would need for different parts of the story.
DT Day
We've had lots of fun making Christmas cards, paper chains and calendars! We used lots of the skills we have been learning in our art and DT lessons to create our fantastic work.
Autumn Walk
In science we have been learning about the different seasons. We decided to go on a walk to see if we could spot some of the signs to show it is Autumn now. We saw trees with leaves falling off and found lots of red, brown and orange leaves on the ground. We even found some pine cones!
Phonics Games
We like to play lots of phonics games to help consolidate our learning of new sounds. We had lots of fun finding these word and picture cards hidden outside! We used our phonics knowledge to sound out each word so we could find the matching picture.
Author Visit: Adam Bushnell
We enjoyed a visit from children's author Adam Bushnell. He showed us some of his tiny tree monsters and we drew our own monsters! We also wrote about what our monsters enjoyed doing.
Practical Maths
We have lots of fun in our practical maths lessons! These lessons help us to understand new mathematical concepts. We have enjoyed practical lessons outside and in the classroom using maths resources.
