"Students need to be given the chance to CREATE with technology, not just learn to use it!"
What our children say
Introducing our Year 6 Computing Ambassadors - Scarlett, Sonny, Ethan and Charlie.
"Hi we are the computing ambassadors and we love computing! Computing at our school is fun because we get to explore the internet safely. We love to code and try out different technology. There are so many opportunities for us to create things using different tech! In computing now, we are exploring green/blue screens and putting people anywhere! What other subjects can you put people on the moon?! You must be careful on the internet though and remember all of our online safety rules."
Pupil Voice:
In computing, we have been learning how to make video games on 2DIY3D. We have enjoyed everything and don't think anything could be improved! (Rose and Chloe - Year 6)
We use the iPads to take pictures and make an autumn collage. We love playing games on the iPads and using Bee Bots. (Macy and Phoebe - Reception)
We have been learning how to make Ebooks which are online books. We used our writing in English to do this and loved using the different apps to publish our stories! (Joseph and Ted - Year 3/4).
Curriculum Intent
It is our intent at Coxhoe Primary School to provide all of our children with a high-quality education in computing which provides access to an ever changing and expanding digital world. We wish to develop a love of computing and provide children with the ability to enhance their knowledge, skills and understanding through different types of media whilst keeping safety at the forefront of their minds.
