How to stay safe during school closures
Take a look at the BBC website - Own It - https://www.bbc.com/ownit
Hello everyone, I hope you are all doing well. We are missing you so much at school and can't wait to be back together as a Coxhoe family.
I know it's difficult not seeing your friends and family every day and therefore wanting to increase your time on social media and video calls, but it is still my job to help to make sure that you are staying safe whilst doing this. Now more than ever, it is important for everyone to know how to stay connected, stay safe online, check the facts whilst also remembering to take a break.
Please please remember that whatever you post/say online will count towards your digital footprint - you cannot get rid of it. Therefore, saying mean things (this include inappropriate language) in a WhatsApp group or any other social media site can have huge consequences - DON'T DO IT!
As we move into another week of uncertainty, I know that many of you are reading information on the internet, but remember, not everything you read is true! I'd like you to think about the following next time you read something online:
Use the SHARE checklist to make sure you’re not contributing to the spread of harmful content:
Source - make sure information comes from a trusted source
Headline - always read beyond the headline
Analyse - check the facts
Retouched - does the image or video look as though it has been doctored?
Error - look out for bad grammar and spelling
Remember, if you have any concerns, speak to a trusted adult. Stay safe, stay connect!
If you have any questions, concerns or want to be part of the digital leaders, come and see Miss Marsden.
Our digital leaders are always around school to chat to if you have any concerns. Look out for their special badges on their jumpers.
If there is anything that you believe you need to report that doesn't make you feel safe online. You can click this link ------>> which will take you straight to the correct page.
