Cooper our Therapy Dog
We are very excited to introduce you all to a new member of our Coxhoe Primary School family.
Cooper is a Golden Retriever and was born on 14th January 2020. He is currently undergoing basic training and will begin his specialist therapy training with 'Pets as Therapy' when he is 9 months old. We cannot wait for him to become an integral part of our school.
Please read our School Dog Policy to see our reasons for having a therapy dog as well as frequently asked questions:
Settling in at home...
Cooper was born in the Lake District and was collected by Miss Britton when he was 9 weeks old. He has settled into his new home beautifully and is already showing how clever he can be! We are very excited to see him slot into our daily routine in school.
Cooper is growing!
Cooper is growing more and more every day! He is now 13 weeks old and is huge! His training at home is going well and he has lots of tricks under his belt including sit, paw, hi-5, wait and even spin! What a good boy!
Cooper's first day at school
Cooper came to school for some transition time today and loved meeting some of his work colleagues and exploring his new environment. He especially liked getting treats from Mrs Bartle and Mr Coils!
A message from Cooper...
Check out my tricks!
After many requests from children and families to see Cooper's tricks, we decided to record them all for you and upload them on to his page. He is such a clever boy! See what you think! He can't wait to meet you all!
Cooper has enjoyed coming into school each week to get to know all of his new friends. He has been getting busy working with Miss Dunkley in the office although isn't quite ready to take any calls yet!
As you can see by the huge smile on his face, he loves to spend time getting lots of cuddles too!
Just waiting for all of my new friends...
I can't wait to meet you all in September!
