Coronavirus Update

Update for all parents/carers

On behalf of all of the staff, I would like to say a huge thank you to our families for their patience and the kind words that they have shared with us throughout this extremely difficult week. Alongside being with our children in school, that support has really helped to keep us going.

It was with a very heavy heart, that we said goodbye to our children on Friday with the huge uncertainty that lies ahead of us all. We all know that we have deeply challenging and uncertain times ahead for everybody. However, I am in no doubt that our school family will continue to support one another - even in the 'virtual sense' - throughout whatever challenges are to come.

We have planned the initial necessary provision for care for those parents who are required at the front line of this crisis. The government have issued further guidance over the last 48 hours to clarify that ONLY children who have parents who are critical to the Covid19 response and cannot be safely cared for at home, can attend childcare places in school. The guidance is clear “the fewer children making the journey to school, and the fewer children in educational settings, the lower the risk that the virus can spread and infect vulnerable individuals in the wider society.” During this difficult time we would appreciate that every child who can be safely cared for at home, should be. If your circumstances have changed since Friday, please ensure that you contact the school office as soon as possible.

Initial packs of resources have been set to support home learning but these will be regularly reviewed with updated information and challenges, using each class page. The children are very excited about their packs; we will strive to keep ideas refreshed to help maintain motivation.  We are also liaising with our IT provider to create an email address that can be accessed by our team of teachers so that we can support you with any learning questions/queries.

If you have any concerns at all, please get in touch and we will help where we can. We very much hope to be back together as our school family as soon as possible.

Take care,

Mrs Bartle
