Spring Term 2024

What our children in Year 2 children say about curriculum enrichment this term...

This term as part of our RE unit about Christianity we first visited our local church - St Mary's where we used our senses to explore the church and we asked the vicar alot of questions. We got to sit in the pews and stand at the altar (Fiamma). We then visited Auckland Castle where we learnt about St Cuthbert and explored the castle and the faith museum. We got to touch lots of religious and historical things and retold the story of St Cuthbert (Joshua)

Adam Bushnell visited our school in January and when he worked with our class we learnt lots about space and we deigned our own rockets. My favourite part was making my rocket for the future (Goldie)

Suzie from the Dogs Trust worked with our class to teach us how to take care of dogs and how to be safe around them. My favourite part was getting to cuddle Plushy the dog (Cora)

Autumn Term 2023

What our children in Year 2 children say about curriculum enrichment this term...

During our Chartwells workshop, we made different animals from cucumber, peppers, grapes, spinach and carrots. We learnt about healthy eating and I liked trying some new foods (Sophia). I liked trying the different fruits and vegetables - my favourites were peppers and watermelon (Helaina).

We visited Hardwick Park this term and my favourite part was making woodpecker nests and beaver dams (William). I loved making the nests, finding the bees and taking photographs of the Gruffalo. We even had hot chocolate and a story (Isaac).
