Thank you to our Reception Parents and Carers!

Now that we are half way through the school year, we would like to extend our sincere thanks for your support and contributions towards the many wonderful experiences our Reception children have benefited from this year so far. We know that enriching experiences in primary school play a vital role in inspiring curiosity, broadening horizons, and nurturing essential skills, helping children make meaningful connections between their learning and potential future careers.

From school visits to visitors and workshops, your involvement has helped create lasting memories and valuable learning opportunities for our children. The children have enjoyed a range of enriching experiences including workshops with Adam Bushnell (our local author and storyteller), Peter Pan Pantomime at East Durham College and Dogs Trust workshops. Your support has made these enriching experiences possible and have been invaluable in broadening our children’s learning. Take a look at our class webpages to see how much our children enjoy these experiences

We truly appreciate your time, generosity, and encouragement. Thank you for being such an integral part of our school family! With your continued support we look forward to the experiences we have planned for our children during the rest of this school year.

Your child may also want to bring in their own snack each day. Please ensure that this is a healthy snack such as fruit or a cereal bar.

Hey! Let's Go!

It is poetry week in Reception this week. We enjoyed reading, 'Hey, let's go!' from our poetry book, 'Zim, Zam, Zoom!' The poem linked beautifully to our traditional tales topic this half term and we enjoyed practising and performing it to our friends. We recorded it so that we were able to share it with you at home too!

Can you perform a song with actions to tell a story?

Today, children used actions and discussed new lyrics to recall the story, The Elves and the Shoemaker.
